INTERLOCK / COVERSTITCH / FLATLOCK

Jack Interlock Machines is primarily used as a sewing machine for light fabrics, knitwear, such as children’s and sports clothing. A coverstitch is the twin, triple or four-needle stitching you see on the hems of most ready-to-wear knit garments. The top looks like parallel rows of straight stitching and the underside look like serger loops, which ‘covers’ the turned down raw edge. The most basic cover-stitching involves folding over the hem of a flat piece of fabric to the ‘wrong’ side and cover-stitching from the right side, catching the hem underneath.
